thoughts and feels and thoughts and feels [userpic]

I don't know whether to laugh or puke. Read at your own risk. Not recommended for the faint of heart, or those who cannot laugh in the face of dire situations.

I suppose the good news here is that Billy Graham has probably reached a billion people in his lifetime, whereas these idolaters definitely have not.

So, I freely admit that I'm one of those non-denominational, science-believing, gay marriage-supporting, birth control-using, lefty-type Christians, but... WTF? I have no idea what those people are talking about. Billy Graham is too liberal? Catholics are bad? What...? With the what now?

Yeah, that's what I said.

It almost hurts to read it.

We learned about this thing in Photography called 'aerial perspective' - that's where you can tell things are farther away because they fade into greyness (like in fog). I think the conservative/liberal spectrum is like that - anything farther right than Billy or so is just too far away to be believed.

Everybody just thinks they know the right answer nowadays, don't they? Like your little ten pew church in Leftys Branch Holler are the only people who've got it right, and you're little 9 member congregation is the only chosen few who get to go to heaven when it's all said and done.

It's hard not to hate people.

This is (unfortunately) nothing new - Machen was writing this same stuff (granted, these people make Machen look like a left-winger, as well as a blazing intellectual mind) in 1915. And I'm sure someone else was saying it before he was. See also Copernicus, Galileo, Socrates, et al.

::heart bleeds, just a little:: ::wishes she was surprised just a little more::

Oh, oy. :(

And these people are having children.
