why yes, i *do* like the sound of my own voice [userpic]
(Excerpted from a TTW mailing)

Off I go, into the wild blue yonder.

So there I was at work, and Dad called. It was during lunch rush, so I called back when I was on break. My Knight in Shining Armor (in a very unlikely guise) has come to rescue me from the evils of Springfield.

I just got off the phone with Brett Hall, who is brass caption head for the Colts. I'm leaving Friday morning to go join them. I'll be gone 4 weeks (5 weekends) touring all over creation, sleeping on bus and gym floors, getting sore as noone's business, and doing something OTHER than living in this hellhole.

We get done August 11th - at 4 in the farking morning, but that's okay.

If you want postcards from the road, email me your addy, but not to the hotmail one; send it to pwbubbles@juno.com (it doesn't start bouncing stuff when the box gets full.)

If you want to get in touch with me between Thursday night and then, the best (in fact only) way to do so is by SENDING ME MAIL. With real paper and real pens in a real envelope.

This is how to send me mail:

Write your letter and put it in an envelope. Add a stamp and a return addy. Then address it thusly:

HOLD FOR COLTS DRUM CORPS
Ruthan Freese
General Delivery
(Address)

The address varies weekly:
Delivery on July 17th: 12 W. Dickson St., Fayetteville AR, 72701
July 22nd: 200 W. Cleveland Ave., Electra TX, 76360
July 29: 624 N. Highway 69, Huxley IA, 50124.

The last mail drop will be August 6-10, but we don't have the addy yet. You can go to www.colts.org/tour.html#housing and look for it (it's at the bottom of the page) if you're so inclined. I'd recommend mailing stuff at least 3 days before the delivery date, just to be on the safe side.

In fact, look around the whole site. (www.colts.org). Learn many interesting things! Whooo.

And wish me luck. :D

*big hugs* Luck to ya! Have a killer time. :D Write me if you'd like, from the road, you stud! XD

You know on the Colts page? In the upper left corner, the guy holding the handbells (that looks vaguely like he just got the stuffing beat out of him)? That's Jake Ansley, Juli's older brother. He's the cymbal section leader. :) *is very proud to now know THREE! people from the Colts!* I'll be sure to send you mail for every drop. :)

*laughs like a dork* This is so cool, and I'm not even the one going!!! *rofl*

you have no clue who i am
but me did a winter guard search and shazaam i came up with you.
yay for guard.
i'm still stuck in high school but i can't wait to get out to the world and march.
sleeping on gym floors and touring and eating fast food... sounds like my springs but magnified.
anyway, i think i'm making no sense, but the point was *i love guard*

YAY GUARD!

We don't eat fast food though... we eat truck food.
Now I get to go back to school and say (truthfully) that I ate better meals out of a semi than I get in the school cafeteria! >:D

Anyway, hi :)
